Your questions answered
Common questions
Is your teff gluten free?
Teff is naturally 100% gluten-free and is processed in a gluten-free facility dedicated to Teff. Each lot is verified to be gluten-free down to 5 ppm or less by a third-party lab.
*Each product is produced in accordance with good manufacturing practices following ISO standards and all applicable EU, and HACCP regulations as amended.
What allergens are in your facility?
Our Teff has a single processing line dedicated to the production of teff.
None of the following allergen sources or derivatives are present in or used in the production of any teff products.
Our Teff is free from these allergen sources: peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, soy, fish, crustacean shellfish, wheat, seeds, sulfites, diacetyl, non-wheat gluten, mollusk, artificial colors, colors, celery, monosodium glutamate (MSG), corn, HVP (hydrolyzed plant/vegetable protein), preservatives, yeast.
Our Teff is produced in accordance with good manufacturing practices following all HACCP and all applicable EU regulations as amended.
What is the shelf-life of your teff?
While our packaging indicates a Best Before Date (BBD) of 1 year from production, rest assured that, when stored under recommended conditions and with good sanitary practices, your Teff can thrive for up to an impressive 24 months (about 2 years) at recommended storage conditions and good sanitary practices.
What are the recommendations for storing teff?
As with any freshly milled grains, the freshness of the flour decreases soon after milling. To maintain freshness for up to 2 years, we recommend storing your teff flour, or grain, in a cool, dry place. Storing them in the refrigerator, or freezer, if possible.
To maximize the shelf life of teff flour:
Store in a Cool Place: Keep teff in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Use Airtight Containers: Store teff in airtight containers to prevent moisture, air, and pests from affecting its quality.
Refrigeration/Freezing (Optional): For longer storage, you can refrigerate or freeze teff flour. This can help to extend its shelf life, but it’s crucial to use a moisture-proof container or vacuum-sealed bag.
What ingredients are in your teff product?
Our products are 100% whole grain teff.
There are no additives or preservatives used at any time in the growing or milling of teff.
